Atlanta is a sprawling city with an important history. Atlanta is known for groves of luscious peaches and lots of great attractions. The city is also home to a thriving population of senior citizens. The warm weather, wealth of activities and robust senior services makes senior living in Atlanta easy and affordable. Atlanta has a diverse population where seniors can connect while supporting their cultures and church preferences.

AgeWise Connection-Atlanta Area Agency on Aging is a federal program that provides comprehensive coordination to address the needs of seniors. The program administers programs for senior centers, housing, transportation, employment, and Medicare counseling. Seniors can contact the program to access case management, meals, legal services, in-home programs, community-based programs, counseling, and referrals.

Division of Aging Services is an award-winning program that offers the best in adult protective services, aging resource linkage, caregiving programs, community services, advocacy, help with insurance, in-home services, and community-based services.

Center for Positive Aging is a non-profit organization and a vital resource for Atlanta seniors, along with their families and caregivers, regardless of ethnicity, disability, or financial resources. The center receives calls daily from seniors and families who need services because they are in crisis. The center helps over 200 seniors each month with programs for home health care, housing, mental health, wellness, hospice care, and legal services. The center partners with almost a dozen area churches to serve seniors.

The Georgia Care Planning Council is a state run program that lists the community care providers and advisers that help seniors and their families. The Council provides eldercare education, home care services, hospice care, assisted living, adult day services, medical equipment and disability aids, home maintenance and remodeling, senior centers, medical alert services, care managers, and dispute resolution.

Marcus JCC Atlanta serves the large, thriving Jewish senior population that exists in Atlanta. The center is a network for Jewish seniors in Atlanta to join in sporting activities, personal enrichment programs, health and fitness programs, and Jewish life and learning programs. The center has separate programs for pre-retirees and those who are over the age of 70.

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta provides senior services for frail and elderly adults. Services includes wellness programs, adult day care, caregiver services, counseling, vocational training and placement, and support groups. The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta provides educational, cultural, fitness, and other programs and activities. The William Breman Jewish Home offers various levels of programs including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing, as well are rehabilitation services.

Wesley Woods was founded as a Methodist Home for the Aged. Wesley Woods has evolved into a community of senior living retirement homes with options for residential, assisted living, dementia care, skilled nursing, and acute care. The senior communities offer dining services, transportation to shopping, assistance with banking, wellness programming, social services, and a variety of fun activities.

With all of the services that seniors can access for support, assistance, and help with nearly every personal and medical need, seniors can attain the best quality of life for as long as possible.
