Anaheim Support Groups for Caregivers

Families are committed to caring for each other through thick or thin. Unfortunately, advancing age can make caring for an ill or disabled family member difficult, if not overwhelming.

Anaheim seniors who are trying to help loved ones through normal daily activities need resources to relieve the stress and emotional strain of providing full-time care. Fortunately, there are a plethora of support groups and organizations that can do just that.

Keep reading to find out about a few of the invaluable services that are available to caregivers in Anaheim.

The Office on Aging Family Caregiver Support Program

The Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) was set up to provide a range of support services for caregivers who act as the primary, unpaid providers of in-home or community care for a senior aged person or even an impaired adult. The FCSP program consists of five support services; information to caregivers about the services that are available, assistance to caregivers in getting access to services, counseling, assembling support groups, and also caregiver training.

FCSP also offers respite care to enable caregivers to be relieved from their caregiving responsibilities for brief periods and supplemental services that are given on a limited basis that complements the care provided by caregivers.

Family Caregiver Resource Center

The Family Caregiver Resource Center is an invaluable partner for Anaheim families, who must cope with the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of providing care.

They also provide Anaheim families with a range of fantastic individualized support services.

The Family Caregiver Resource Center is the only Orange County organization that focuses exclusively on caregiver’s needs and help people cope with a family member’s chronic illness.

At the Family Caregiver Resource Center, caregivers can take advantage of family consultation and support groups. The Center can provide important assessment and care planning, sympathetic counseling, and respite planning.

VA Caregiver Support

While it is true that the VA is dedicated to providing help for former U.S. service members, they also provide help for the family members of veterans. VA Caregiver Support is a resource that will provide various services and support options to make caring for your loved one easier and less stressful.

The VA Caregiver Support Program is available for both in and out of home care. To learn more about how this program can help you, call 1-855-260-3274. You can ask for immediate help or find out about what services are available.
